How can Muslims pursue justice without borrowing the moral language of failing ideologies? How do we resist false binaries such as East versus West, tradition versus progress, and men versus women? Dr. Samir argues that Islam holds deep common ground with the Abrahamic and Greco-Roman intellectual traditions, and that the Muslim civilisational capacity to hold unity and diversity together simultaneously is one of the most urgently needed gifts the tradition can offer right now. Dr. Samir Mahmoud is Academic Director of Usul Academy (usul.academy) and Lecturer on the Diploma in Islamic Psychology at the Cambridge Muslim College. He was formerly Assistant Professor at the Lebanese American University.
