This man went and studied with wahhabis and then spread wahhabism in the US for decades until he recognized it was false. He then studied with orientalists and now spreading orientalist ideas. He should be humble and start study lslam with Sunni ulema and learn the basics of lslam.

So the west is better? Putting your children in western schools is like abandoning your children. There will be a difference in lifestyle for sure but this is what the Prophet sala Allahu alahi wasalam feared for us, our fitna with wealth.
I disagree to some extent. While living in Muslim countries has its challenges, society there is often much conservative, safer, more compassionate, and the food is better 😅. It’s true there can be government-level corruption, but when you remind people that Subhanahu wa ta'Allah is watching, many feel remorse and change their ways. You rarely see that in Western societies! Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and Oman are all truly beautiful places to live.
Why would the older generation talk about Hijrah, they wouldnt have come to the west in the first place if that was there mind set
It true, even here in a Muslim majority community, I face a lot of discrimination and daylight injustice from Muslims
While I understand the sentiments about muslim lands not being entirely ruled by sharia and in many muslim lands we may have less religious freedoms than in the west, I don't understand the "best of the west" comment. Everybody knows that hijrah is a sacrifice of ones own comfort for the sake of Allah and the deen. Not all muslim lands are alike and some are amazing places to live. To some people decreased economic opportunity with increased Islamic community is a very fair trade
And then no democracy no freedom of speech with a tyrant ruler
Why is he claiming we expect to get the "Best of the West in an Eastern land"? Not sure I understand that. But I do understand why the first generation of immigrants never talk about hijrah. Because they came here for (no offense) worldly reasons. The reason hijrah is becoming viral these days is for the opposite: akhirah reasons.

True, family/neighbors hating, sihr much more common, there's a lot of stuff you have to deal with, it's not all glitter and gold that's his point, there are different problems everywhere but there ARE problems
